He made these remarks on Wednesday (July 8) at a seminar organized by the 11-party alliance at Kakrail in the capital, demanding the implementation of the referendum verdict and the trial of genocide.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said if political parties deceive the nation, the public will lose trust and respect for politicians in the future.
He further said, 'We wanted elections, not conspiracies. But conspiracies were hatched. The interim government was also involved in this conspiracy. We condemn it.'

He also warned that no concessions would be given to the government regarding the people's rights.
Speakers at the seminar alleged that by not implementing the referendum verdict, the government is pushing the country towards a new political crisis. They demanded that there is no alternative to implementing the referendum verdict to avoid further bloodshed.
The event was attended by top leaders of the 11-party alliance, as well as July fighters and members of martyrs' families.
