BNP believes in peace and rule of law, no repeat of looting: Rizvi
BNP acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that the party believes in establishing peace, stability and the rule of law. He said the looting and anarchy of the past cannot be repeated. He called on party leaders and activists to behave tolerantly and play a responsible role in protecting the government's image.

He made these remarks while speaking as chief guest at a memorial meeting organized at the National Press Club on Monday (October 12) on the occasion of the tenth death anniversary of former BNP standing committee member and former minister Brigadier General (retd.) A S M Hannan Shah. Hannan Shah Smriti Sangsad organized the meeting.

Rizvi called for ensuring security at every puja mandap for the upcoming Durga Puja by discussing with the puja committee and arranging guards, observation and monitoring. He feared that attempts might be made to damage the government's image through sabotage. He called on party leaders and activists to fulfill this responsibility on a voluntary basis.

Regarding the country's economic situation, Rizvi said that due to international conflict, there are problems in importing diesel. Since diesel is important for the production of winter vegetables and Rabi crops, the government is trying to tackle the crisis and bring relief to the people. He also claimed that the situation is improving under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.
