The Information Minister said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the four-storied academic building of Nalchira Secondary School in Gournadi Upazila on Saturday morning. After laying the foundation stone, he planted tree saplings in the school premises. 

Addressing teachers, guardians and students, he said that teachers and guardians must work together to inspire students with good education, moral values and patriotism. Everyone must be sincere in utilizing the benefits of the government's development activities. He expressed hope that the educational activities of the school will become more dynamic once the new building is established.

He said that students are imprisoned in a mental prison through division based on first, second or grades. This practice undermines students' creativity and self-confidence. True education is an education of free thought where every student gets the opportunity to develop their own abilities and talents. To create good citizens, along with textbook-based education, students must be taught human values and morality. 

He further said that students must engage in sports for physical development alongside their studies. Sports play an important role in keeping the body healthy as well as mental development. Moreover, regular sports play a role in building discipline, teamwork mentality and leadership qualities among students. 

The program was presided over by Md. Nurul Alam, Head Teacher of Nalchira Secondary School. Executive Engineer of Barisal Education Directorate Md. Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge Md. Afzal Hossain, former president of Nalchira School Abdul Sattar Mridha and Managing Committee member Al Mamun Swapan gave speeches as special guests. Members of the school's managing committee, teachers, students, political leaders and media workers were present at the event.
