The program was held in the city on Sunday (July 12) at noon, organized by the Pabna Sadar Upazila Women's League. The protest march, which started from the party office, paraded through Abdul Hamid Road and ended in front of Latif Tower.
Later, at the protest rally held there, speeches were given by District Women's League General Secretary Meherunnesa Shajahan, Joint Presidents Lutfunnahar Hazari and Farhana Parvin, Joint Secretary Shabnam Manjila Khanam Mita, Pabna Sadar Upazila Women's League President Mohsina Khan Setu, and General Secretary Jinnia Afroz Rima.
The speakers alleged that NCP joint convener Sarwar Tushar made baseless and obscene comments about Shamshur Rahman Shimul Biswas, MP for Pabna-5 constituency. They demanded that he withdraw the remarks and apologize unconditionally.
At the time, the speakers further said that such remarks are against political etiquette and that an attempt has been made to spread confusion through them.
The rally condemned Sarwar Tushar's remarks and called on the relevant authorities to take necessary action regarding the matter.
