Government wants to move forward with people of all religions: Prime Minister
The government wants to move the country forward by ensuring the participation of people of all religions, not any kind of discrimination, said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He said that if public cooperation continues, the 'Family Card' program will be expanded across the country in phases.

He said these things on Monday (July 13) around 11 am while participating in a tree planting and canal re-excavation program in Gournadi, Barisal.

The Prime Minister said that to build a beautiful and livable country, along with extensive tree planting, proper care of the trees must also be ensured. He said, 'Just as parents feel joy when their children grow up, similarly, seeing one's own planted tree grow brings the same kind of satisfaction.'

He informed that the number of trees in the country is still less than the requirement. To meet this deficit, the government has planned to plant 25 crore trees across the country in the next five years.

Highlighting the impact of climate change, the Prime Minister said that the pattern of rainfall has now changed and there is more rainfall compared to the past. Therefore, there is no alternative to tree planting to maintain environmental balance, tackle natural disasters, and build a safe Bangladesh for future generations.

As part of the visit, he participated in separate tree planting programs at the bank of the newly excavated Sarikal canal in Batajor Union of Gournadi Upazila, at the Trish Godown killing ground area in Barisal district headquarters, and at the Sagardi area adjacent to Trish Godown.
