He handed over the awards to the winners at an event held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, Dhaka on Wednesday (July 15).
The Prime Minister inaugurated the program by planting tree saplings at the beginning of the event. Later, in a brief speech to the students present outside the conference center, he urged everyone to come forward to protect the environment. He also urged each student to plant at least one tree sapling.
As part of implementing the government's election manifesto, various competitions were organized with the participation of students from grades three to five across the country to develop children's intellect, mindfulness and creativity. These competitions were held starting from the upazila level, progressing through district and divisional stages, and culminating at the national level.
At the national level, awards were given in a total of 21 categories including sports, culture and subject-based categories as recognition for the winning students. The government has stated that such initiatives will continue in the future with the aim of enhancing students' creativity, leadership qualities and participation in co-curricular activities.
