What punishment is mentioned for not performing Jumu'ah prayer?

In hadith, it is stated that those who repeatedly abandon Jumu'ah prayer without a valid excuse have been given a stern warning. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'Whoever neglects and abandons three Jumu'ah prayers, Allah seals his heart.' (Sunan Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i)

However, Jumu'ah is not obligatory for everyone. For example, a traveler, a sick person, or someone with a valid Shariah excuse may perform Zuhr prayer instead of Jumu'ah, and it will be acceptable. A traveler may attend the Jumu'ah congregation if they wish, but it is not mandatory for them.

According to Islamic law, Jumu'ah prayer is obligatory (fardh), not merely recommended (wajib). Therefore, those who meet the conditions for Jumu'ah must perform it on time. On the other hand, if there is a valid Shariah reason, performing Zuhr prayer instead of Jumu'ah incurs no sin.
