He said these things on Friday (July 17) at a memorial meeting organized on the occasion of the sixth death anniversary of Professor Emajuddin Ahmed.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We will implement the July Charter. We will observe every letter of it. This is our commitment.”
Regarding the constitution, he said, “We have always said that we want to amend the constitution. We have never spoken of constitutional reform.”
He further said that the July movement should not be used as a tool to come to power. He commented, “The July movement is not just a movement of one month, but the result of a long-standing anti-fascist struggle.”
At this time, Mirza Fakhrul alleged that some leaders of opposition political parties are trying to incite the people by making various kinds of sensational statements.
