England finish third after beating France in a crazy 10-goal match
England and France produced a goal-fest in the World Cup third-place play-off. In a thrilling 10-goal match, England secured third place by beating France 6-4, thanks to a historic hat-trick from Bukayo Saka.

England played attacking football from the start in the match held at Miami Gardens, USA on Saturday. Declan Rice put the team ahead in the third minute. Ezri Konsa doubled the lead in the 18th minute. Bukayo Saka then scored two consecutive goals in the 37th and 44th minutes to give England a 4-0 lead at half-time.

France tried to make a strong comeback in the second half. Kylian Mbappe scored the first goal in the 48th minute. Bradley Barcola reduced the deficit in the 54th minute. Mbappe scored his second goal in the 66th minute, taking his personal World Cup tally to 22 goals.

However, Saka completed his first World Cup hat-trick by scoring a penalty in the 87th minute, almost securing England's victory. Ousmane Dembele scored another goal for France in stoppage time, but a stunning goal from Jude Bellingham in the final moments confirmed England's 6-4 win.

With this victory, England added a new chapter of finishing third as their best World Cup result since winning the title in 1966. On the other hand, France's final match under outgoing coach Didier Deschamps ended in defeat.
