He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the International Investment Summit and Expo held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in the capital on Thursday (July 23).

The Prime Minister said, “I want to give you a clear message—the new and visionary BNP government wants domestic and foreign entrepreneurs to come to Bangladesh to make new investments and expand their businesses. When you invest capital in Bangladesh, the government will stand by you with policy support, institutional cooperation, and timely initiatives. This is not just a promise, but a commitment of our government.”
He said that although Bangladesh faces some challenges, the scope of opportunities is even greater. With a rapidly expanding domestic market, a young workforce, a strategic geographical location, and a representative government, Bangladesh is moving forward on the path of sustainable economic progress.

The Prime Minister informed that the government's goal is to build a rule-based economy connected to the global economy and dependent on the private sector. Various reform activities are being carried out based on the election manifesto to implement this goal.
He said that before taking office, the government held extensive discussions with investors, entrepreneurs, business organizations, economists, and development partners. Based on their advice, initiatives have been taken to create investment-friendly laws, a modern regulatory framework, a simplified tax system, profit repatriation facilities, a strong capital market, and improved infrastructure.
Tarique Rahman said that work is underway to strengthen investor protection, ensure speedy dispute resolution, simplify the tax and VAT system, reduce administrative complexities, and digitize government services. At the same time, emphasis is being placed on developing renewable energy, ports, logistics, and energy security.
He further said that the government has set a target to elevate Bangladesh to a one trillion dollar economy by 2034. To achieve this goal, special incentives are being provided in the sectors of renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, electronics, digital services, agro-based industries, advanced textiles, healthcare, and logistics.
The Prime Minister said, “Bangladesh's future does not depend solely on attracting investment, but on building long-term, trust-based partnerships. Together, we can build a strong, just, and inclusive economy.”
At the end of his speech, he called upon domestic and foreign investors to invest in Bangladesh, saying that the government will work jointly with the private sector to build the Bangladesh of tomorrow through creating new employment and economic prosperity.
