Earlier, due to a mechanical fault in the aircraft, the Prime Minister's return journey home was delayed. While heading toward the runway, when a signal regarding a fault in the aircraft's spoiler appeared in the cockpit, the pilot cancelled the decision to take off. Later, in coordination with the control tower, the aircraft was taken back to the designated parking area.
Immediately after the fault was detected, engineers began technical inspection and repair work on the aircraft. Because the repair took a long time, the Prime Minister and members of his delegation got off the aircraft. Other passengers were also taken to the airport lounge to wait.
The flight was scheduled to take off around 6:00 pm local time in Japan on Thursday. However, about 40 minutes after the scheduled time, the pilot announced from the cockpit that the flight's departure was delayed due to a mechanical fault. He also apologized to the passengers for this.
According to sources at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, flight BG-377, carrying VIP passengers, was scheduled to travel from Japan's Narita International Airport to Dhaka. After boarding was completed, the aircraft was pushed back from the terminal. Later, while heading toward the runway, takeoff was suspended after a fault-related signal was received.
After the engineers completed inspection and repair work and the fault was fixed, the flight began its journey toward Dhaka.
