Three-Week Rally Halts as DSE Market Capitalization Drops by BDT 9,613 Crore
Following a three-week upward rally, the country's prime stock market experienced a major correction last week. Driven by price declines across most listed companies, the total market capitalization of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) shrank by BDT 9,613 crore over the week. Concurrently, all key indices and daily turnover figures posted notable declines.

During the five trading sessions last week, the benchmark index closed lower on three days. Across the entire week, prices of 120 issues advanced, while 240 declined, and 26 remained unchanged.

Market Capitalization and Indices Shift

By the close of the final trading session of the week, DSE's market capitalization stood at BDT 701,270 crore, down from BDT 710,883 crore in the preceding week. This represents a week-on-week loss of BDT 9,613 crore, offsetting a portion of the BDT 18,357 crore gained during the previous three weeks.
