Prime Minister Tareq Rahman will deliver speech at UN General Assembly

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the Prime Minister will deliver a speech on behalf of Bangladesh at the general session on September 24. Necessary preparations have already begun ahead of this visit.

Relevant sources said this year's General Assembly is of special importance for Bangladesh because Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman will serve as the President of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

During the New York visit, the Prime Minister will attend a reception hosted by US President Donald Trump. In addition, he will exchange views with expatriate Bangladeshis and may hold multiple bilateral meetings with heads of government of various countries.

It is learned that this visit of the Prime Minister will be brief. He will stay in New York for four to five days and leave the USA on September 25 or 26 to return home.

The Prime Minister's entourage is also being limited. According to relevant sources, there will be no more than 35 representatives accompanying him on this visit.
