Acting President begins official activities at Bangabhaban

On Tuesday (July 28) morning, he arrived at Bangabhaban from the official residence of the National Parliament. There, he participated in the regular official activities of the President's Office and conducted necessary administrative affairs with relevant officials.

According to concerned sources, this was Hafiz Uddin Ahmed's first formal working day after assuming the role of Acting President. By arriving at Bangabhaban, his formal duties at the President's Office have commenced.

Earlier, on July 24, President Md. Sahabuddin resigned citing health reasons, following which, according to constitutional provisions, Speaker of the National Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumed the role of Acting President.

After assuming office, last Sunday morning he paid tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Great Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar. At that time, he signed the visitor's book at the memorial. Senior military and civilian officials, including the chiefs of the armed forces, were present at the event.

Later, returning to the capital, the Acting President paid homage by placing wreaths at the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
