Special guests included State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP; State Minister for Planning Md. Jonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, MP; and Ministry Secretary Ms. Fahmida Akhtar, NDC. The ceremony was chaired by Md. Samimuzzaman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation.

During the event, prize bonds and crests of honour were presented to the families of martyrs and the injured fighters.

Minister Afroza Khanum said, “The martyrs and injured of July are brave contributors to a unique chapter of our national history. Their sacrifices must not only be remembered—we must build a humane and discrimination-free Bangladesh in line with their dreams.” She announced that July fighters would receive 36% discounts at Tourism Corporation hotels, special fare on Biman Bangladesh Airlines tickets, and employment opportunities.

State Minister Millat shared that he was involved in the movement from the beginning and was imprisoned by the previous regime. He proudly mentioned being a member of the ‘BNP Family’ cell formed by Prime Minister Tarek Rahman during the uprising. He also announced free entry for July fighters to tourism spots and job initiatives under the ministry.

State Minister Saki stated that development planning must be inclusive, upholding the spirit of July. He added, “The current government is busy fulfilling the aspirations of July, not running a race to claim credit.”

Chairman Samimuzzaman emphasised that the event was not merely a formality but an expression of gratitude and national consciousness.

Five martyr families and five injured fighters attended the programme, along with senior ministry officials, tourism stakeholders, and journalists.
