Fraud ring issues fake appointment letters forging signature of Public Administration Ministry deputy secretary
A fake office order issued by forging the signature of Shariful Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Administration-1 branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, recently came to the ministry's attention. The office order stated that a person named Md. Reduan Ahmmed was appointed to the post of office assistant in the Ministry of Public Administration. A fraud ring is operating to extort money from ordinary people by issuing fake appointment letters.

In the fake office order issued on August 10, it was stated, 'To address the manpower crisis in the Ministry of Public Administration, following the decision of the departmental selection committee, the final decision has been taken to appoint against vacant posts in accordance with government rules on a revenue basis under the pay scale 2015 at Tk 8,250–20,010. This appointment will be effective from 11-08-2026.'

Deputy Secretary Shariful Islam confirmed that no such appointment letter or office order was issued from the Administration-1 branch of the Ministry of Public Administration. Moreover, there is no scope for direct recruitment without publishing a recruitment notice in the media and conducting recruitment examinations through proper procedure. Therefore, job seekers have been requested to remain cautious and avoid being misled by job lure or engaging in any kind of financial transaction or agreement with dishonest rings.

It is noteworthy that all recruitment circulars of the Ministry of Public Administration are regularly published on the ministry's website. Eligible candidates are recruited through competitive examinations. To make the entire process transparent, applications are accepted online, and candidates are informed about every stage of recruitment through SMS on their mobile phones and through the ministry's website (www.mopa.gov.bd). Even then, some dishonest rings are taking advantage of the simplicity and helplessness of job seekers by issuing fake recruitment notices and appointment orders. General job seekers have been urged to regularly follow the ministry's website for any job-related information.
