Thursday was fixed for submission of the investigation report in the case at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka. However, as the investigation agency, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police, did not submit the report, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam fixed this new date for submitting the report. As a result, the submission of the investigation report was postponed for the 19th time.
Hadi murder investigation report postponed for 19th time
On December 12 last year, while returning after Friday prayers at around 2:20 pm, miscreants shot Osman Hadi on Box Culvert Road under Paltan Police Station and fled. Following the incident, Inqilab Manch member secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed a case as complainant at Paltan Police Station on December 14. Although injured Osman Hadi was taken to Singapore for better treatment, he died on December 18 while undergoing treatment.
Later, on December 20 last year, following an application by the investigating officer, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case.

Earlier, on January 6 last year, the investigating officer of the case, Detective Police (DB) Inspector Faisal Ahmed, submitted a charge sheet against 17 people at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka.
However, expressing dissatisfaction with the charge sheet submitted by DB, the complainant filed an objection petition with the court on January 15 last year. The court accepted the petition and ordered CID to conduct further investigation into the case. A total of 17 people have been accused in the charge sheet submitted by DB. Of them, 11 are currently in jail and the remaining six are absconding.
