Yunus congratulates Mirza Fakhrul on being elected President

In a congratulatory message, he said, 'Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's political journey spans more than five decades and is closely intertwined with the political history of Bangladesh. His organisational skills, wisdom, leadership during crises, and experience of working closely with grassroots people have established him in a distinct position in the national politics of this country.'

As an academic, experienced politician, and gentleman, his assumption of this new responsibility will further elevate the dignity of the highest constitutional office of the state.

I hope that under the leadership of His Excellency President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Bangladesh will move forward on a more prosperous, just, and democratic path. I wish him good health, long life, and complete success in discharging his responsibilities.
