Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus has extended heartfelt congratulations and good wishes to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on being elected the 23rd President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

In a congratulatory message, he said, 'Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's political journey spans more than five decades and is closely intertwined with the political history of Bangladesh. His organisational skills, wisdom, leadership during crises, and experience of working closely with grassroots people have established him in a distinct position in the national politics of this country.'
