He made these remarks on Saturday (August 22) at a seminar organized by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) at Motijheel in the capital.
The Finance Minister said, without investment, desired progress in the country's economy is not possible. Therefore, the government and the private sector need to work together to create an investment-friendly environment. He also said the government has taken various initiatives to resolve businessmen's problems.
Regarding the power and gas crisis, Amir Khosru said these problems are not solely under the government's control. It will take time to resolve the crisis, but the government is continuing its efforts in this regard.
At the seminar, Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, adviser to the former caretaker government, highlighted people's suffering caused by unnecessary paperwork demands in government offices and demands for unethical money. He called for urgent steps to stop such ‘harassment tax’.
