Maersk interested in investing in Bangladesh's shipbuilding
At the meeting, the Danish Ambassador said Maersk is interested in directly investing in Bangladesh's shipbuilding industry. The Commerce Minister urged the company to increase investment in the ship recycling sector as well as shipbuilding.
It was stated at the meeting that Bangladesh has long experience in shipbuilding and ship recycling. If large international investments come, the country's blue economy potential will be further developed, along with industrialisation, employment, technology and skill transfer.
