He said this as the chief guest at the conclusion of the opening ceremony of a rally organized in Lakshmipur on Saturday on the occasion of BNP's 48th founding anniversary.
The minister said BNP, founded by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, has stood by the people through various adversities over its long political journey. He also remarked that after Begum Khaleda Zia's leadership, the party is working for public welfare under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.
Regarding the development of Lakshmipur, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said the government is working to solve river erosion, waterlogging and water management problems as well as ensuring the economic and infrastructural development of the district.
The rally, organized by the district BNP, paraded through various roads of the city. Leaders and activists, including supporters of BNP and its associate bodies, were present at various levels.
