Prime Minister inspects North City stall on Dengue Prevention Day

At an event held on Saturday at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building, Dhaka North City Corporation Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Md. Imrul Kayes briefed the Prime Minister on the city corporation's various initiatives and materials used to prevent dengue.

Meanwhile, to prevent dengue, 1,500 members of Dhaka North City Corporation, divided into 24 teams, have begun door-to-door inspections, destruction of mosquito breeding sites, and public awareness activities in 54 wards across 10 zones.

In particular, in the Parliament Building and surrounding risky areas of Zone-5, efforts to identify and destroy Aedes mosquito breeding sites, remove stagnant water, and conduct larvicide operations have been intensified.

The city corporation said that mosquito control activities are being carried out by prioritizing identified risky locations, potential breeding sites, and previous hotspots. Not only mosquito killing, but maximum importance is being given to source control by identifying and destroying Aedes sources and applying larvicide as needed.
