Meeting of IRI delegation with Home Minister

In the meeting, cybercrime, online bullying, and the proposed Cyber Protection (Amendment) Act, 2026 were discussed. The IRI delegation emphasized effective laws and consensus policies to protect youth and political activists from cyberbullying and online propaganda.

The Home Minister said the government is aware of citizens' freedom of expression and personal security. To refine the proposed Cyber Protection Act, opinions are being taken from the international community, media, editors, and civil society. He said one of the main goals of the law is to ensure the protection of women, youth, and journalists while maintaining decency in the digital space.
