Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland Uniting in Demand to Leave the UK
The political leadership of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland is planning to work together with the aim of separating from the United Kingdom. On this issue, the First Ministers of the three regions are meeting in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, on Monday (14 September).

In a report by British media outlet The Telegraph, it has been said that a joint declaration may be signed at the meeting demanding the right to determine their own future and to hold a referendum on the question of independence.

For the first time, pro-independence parties are leading all three devolved governments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. In this situation, a new political debate has begun over the United Kingdom’s constitutional framework.

However, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has rejected the possibility of another Scottish independence referendum. He said the question of holding such a referendum before the next general election does not arise. He claimed there is no basis of clear public support for leaving the United Kingdom in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
