The decision was announced in a letter signed by Deputy Secretary Chowdhury Samia Yasmin from the Trade Organization-2 Branch of the Ministry of Commerce on Monday (September 14).

REHAB president loses post over loan default
The letter said that in the report of the Credit Information Bureau (CIB) of Bangladesh Bank, Md. Ali Afzal was identified as a director of a loan-defaulting institution. Therefore, his post as REHAB president was declared vacant under Section 23(1)(b) of the ‘Trade Organization Act, 2022’.
Copies of the letter informing about the decision were sent to the Senior Vice President of REHAB, the Registrar of the Department of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, the Administrator of FBCCI, and other concerned government offices.
