Local sources said that around 8 am, former member Dhungchai, who maintains the monastery, informed the chairman about the matter. Later, receiving the news, police led by Shawkat Jamil, in-charge of the Baishari Police Investigation Center, went to the scene and recovered the body. After the inquest, the body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Police said that a person named Ongkhyaching Marma has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident. It is learned that the Kyang house was locked from the inside at the time of the murder.
