OC detained with woman from Rajshahi flat, video spreads

An officer-in-charge (OC) of a police station named Mahbub Alam was detained along with a woman from a flat in the Nader Hajir Mor area of Rajshahi. The incident occurred on Friday (September 18) morning. Later, a video of the incident spread on social media.

It was learned that despite knocking for about two hours from 7 am, the door of the flat was not opened. Later, after receiving information, Fire Service members went there. After getting information on 999, police also reached the scene and took Mahbub Alam and the woman to Chandrima Police Station.

Mahbub Alam served as OC of Chandrima Police Station in 2024. At that time, after a video of him taking an envelope from a person spread on social media, he was withdrawn from Chandrima Police Station. He was later working in the Naogaon District Police.

Commandant Mostak Ahmed of the Sirajganj In-Service Training Center said that Mahbub Alam has no leave and went to Rajshahi without informing anyone. Leaving the workplace without permission is also an offense. The matter has been reported to Naogaon District Police.

He also said that although Mahbub Alam is attached to the In-Service Training Center, he is working in Naogaon District Police. No decision has yet been made in this incident. Senior officials will review the matter and decide on taking departmental action.
