University sources said that on June 11, during a departmental examination, Karib was seen using a mobile phone placed between his legs. Later, when the phone was examined, information was found that the answer to the first question of that examination had been searched on Gemini, Google's artificial intelligence-based service.

His answer sheet was seized at 10:17 am. When the two lines written on the answer sheet were found to exactly match the answer found on Gemini, the answer sheet and related evidence were sent to the office of the Controller of Examinations.
Later, the matter was raised at a meeting of the university's Disciplinary Board. When punishment was recommended at a meeting on August 20, the Syndicate meeting held on August 31 decided to take punitive action against him.

According to the university's September 7 notification, a total of 64 students from various departments, institutes, and affiliated institutions have been punished for various offenses, including adopting unfair means in examinations, for terms of ‘Examination +1’, ‘Examination +2’, and ‘Examination +3’.
