On Friday (September 18) morning, when the fish was brought to the Gobindasi Ghat fish market on the bank of the Jamuna in the upazila, fish trader Md. Abdul Halim bought it through an open auction.
It is known that on Thursday (September 17) night, a fisherman from the Gorila Bari area of Kalihati Upazila went to catch fish in the Jamuna River with his associates. At that time, the huge baghair fish was caught in their net.
Later, on Friday morning, the fish was brought to the Gobindasi fish market. After Abdul Halim bought the fish there, local people bought it for Tk 50,000 around noon and divided it among themselves.
When the large fish was brought to the market, locals gathered to see it. The fish seller said that catching fish in the river and selling them is his profession. Such a big fish is not caught all the time. He is happy to get a big fish after a long time.
Fish trader Abdul Halim said that when a fisherman from the Gorila Bari area brought the fish to the Gobindasi Ghat market for sale, he bought it for the purpose of selling. Later, local people bought the fish for Tk 50,000 and divided it among themselves.
