The operation was carried out on Friday (September 18) evening in the Faujdarhat Link Road area of the upazila.

Police said that in the evening, a group of 15 to 20 people was preparing to bring out a sudden procession in that area. Acting on information, police from Sitakunda Model Police Station went to the scene and chased them. At that time, six people were detained, while the others fled.

SI Rubel Afrad, in-charge of Faujdarhat Police Outpost, said the identities of the six detained are being verified. Preparations are underway to file a case against them under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

He also said that after interrogation, the detained persons will be sent to court.
