Young man seen with Apratim in footage: Police

Around 3:30 pm on Friday (September 18), Apratim left his home in Kotbari, taking his mother's iPhone, saying he would take pictures with friends. After that, he was no longer found. In this connection, his father K M Firoz Shahriar filed a general diary (GD) with Sadar South Police Station.

After he went missing, law enforcement agencies collected CCTV footage from various locations. At the same time, information was found that the last location of the iPhone with Apratim was identified in the social forestry area adjacent to Cumilla University.

Around 11 am on Saturday (September 19), Apratim's body was recovered from a hill in the Sananda area behind Magic Paradise Park adjacent to Cumilla University.

Apratim was the child of Dr. Nahida Nahid, associate professor of the Bangla Department at Cumilla University. He was a seventh-grade student at Border Guard Public School and College in Cumilla.

Cumilla Sadar South Police Station OC Rakibul Islam said that Apratim was seen with a young man in CCTV footage from several places around the university. His body was recovered from the area adjacent to Magic Paradise Park. Through investigation, those involved in the incident will be identified and brought under the law.

Apratim's mother said that since he went missing, the iPhone with him was found switched off. Since Apratim grew up in the Kotbari area and is familiar with the area, she does not think he went missing after losing his way.
