The action was taken on Friday (October 2) morning by a decision of Juba Dal Central Executive Committee President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan MP. The matter was announced in a notice.
The notice said the party will not take responsibility for any misconduct by the expelled leader. Leaders and activists of Juba Dal at all levels have been instructed not to maintain organizational relations with him. At the same time, law enforcement agencies have been called upon to take necessary legal action.
According to police station sources, Ismail Hossain went to the police station with a private car on Thursday (October 1) night. An argument occurred between him and a constable and the OC's driver Md. Shafiq over car parking. At one stage, Shafiq was injured in a scuffle.
Later, he was treated at Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex. Police detained Ismail Hossain, but he was released after about four hours.
The notice said that after the incident, organizational action was taken against Ismail Hossain on allegations of breaching party discipline and obstructing law enforcement agencies in performing their duties.
