According to sources, before the attack, people gathered in front of the office of former Shah Ali Thana Chhatra Dal convener Abul Kalam Azad alias Shooter Lelin and BNP leader Mohammad Hanif Mia. Later they attacked the health center. Sources said that during the attack, Hanif Mia, Mostafa Jaglul Pasha alias Papel and Shooter Lelin, along with several others, were seen around the scene.
Some leaders of BNP's Dhaka Metropolitan North unit also claimed that there was a plan to occupy the land of Radda Health Center and build a market. However, some leaders and activists of the party alleged that Misti was being framed through a conspiracy.
Relevant sources said that names of Misti and several local BNP leaders came up in the investigation of the incident. In consequence, the convening committee of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, Jubo Dal and West Chhatra Dal committees were dissolved. At the same time, several leaders at various levels have been expelled from party posts.
BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that no one involved in unethical activities by violating party discipline will be spared. However, expelled leader Hafizur Rahman Shubhro claimed that he was at the airport during the attack.
In the incident of attack on Radda Health Center, a total of 16 people, including local BNP leader Mohammad Hanif Mia, have so far been arrested. It is learned that law enforcement agencies, analyzing CCTV footage, mobile phone data and other information and evidence, have identified several more people on charges of participating in the attack and giving instructions.
