‘Shishu Swarga’ to be set up in 22 districts for children with cerebral palsy
The State Minister for Health said that nearly 350,000 children in the country are affected by cerebral palsy. Yet last year, only 3,300 children received treatment at NINS’s outpatient department. Due to family limitations and social realities, a huge number of children remain outside necessary services.
He said an initiative has been taken to establish ‘Shishu Swarga’ in 22 districts for the treatment and rehabilitation of affected children. Besides, a pilot project has been started under a government initiative in the Korail slum, where about 300 identified children are being provided services.
