Jamaat's youth departmental president-secretary convention in Thakurgaon
The ‘Union Youth Departmental President and Secretary Convention-2026’ was held on the initiative of the Youth and Sports Department of the Sadar-1 constituency of the Thakurgaon District branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

At the convention held on Wednesday (October 8), the chief guest was Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami and President of the Central Youth and Sports Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer. Special guests were Central Working Council member and parliamentary candidate in the by-election for Thakurgaon-1 constituency Delawar Hossain and District Jamaat Amir Professor Belal Uddin Pradhan. The session was presided over by District Youth and Sports Department President Principal Shahjalal Jewel.

Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer said, the youth are the backbone of the nation. If young people stay on the right path, the nation will also move forward. He called for keeping the youth away from terrorism and drugs, building a safe environment, and ensuring their role at various levels of leadership.

He called upon youth organizers to play a responsible and peaceful role in their respective areas in support of Delawar Hossain in the upcoming by-election for Thakurgaon-1 constituency.

Professor Belal Uddin Pradhan called upon the youth to build their lives on moral and religious values. He said, if the youth remain united in the electoral struggle, no conspiracy will succeed.

Delawar Hossain said, to turn the youth into an asset, it is necessary to create employment opportunities. If an EPZ is established in Thakurgaon, a large number of youths can be employed. He also emphasized taking initiatives to create small and medium entrepreneurs using local raw materials.

Highlighting the need for social initiatives to build a drug-free society, Delawar Hossain said that if the youth can be involved in skill development, employment, and positive activities, they will become an important asset for society and the country.

Jamaat leaders and activists from district, upazila, and local levels were present at the convention.
