According to the footage, around 11:45 pm on Wednesday (October 7), Tajmin got off an Iconic Transport bus in front of Nurjahan Hotel. She then went towards several nearby stationery shops and spoke with a shopkeeper. Around 12:15 am, she was seen leaving the area.
Police are scrutinizing which route Tajmin took after that, whether she met anyone, and whether she got into any autorickshaw. A registered CNG-powered autorickshaw was seized a short distance from where the body was recovered. However, Tajmin's involvement with the vehicle has not yet been confirmed.
On Thursday (October 8) morning, her body was recovered from a paddy field in Jagatpur of Lalmai Upazila, beside the Cumilla-Noakhali regional highway. A gamchha was wrapped around her neck. Police initially believe she was strangled to death.
According to family sources, Tajmin was returning to Cumilla on Wednesday night after going to Cox's Bazar with a friend. Her father called multiple times, but she did not receive the calls. Police said multiple units are investigating to unravel the mystery of the incident. A post-mortem report is awaited to know the actual cause of death.
