Some coastal areas are also at risk of life-threatening storm surge. Strong hurricane winds could cause damage in parts of Florida’s Panhandle, southern Alabama, and Mississippi.
A hurricane warning has been issued in this situation. Residents have been advised to prepare for possible prolonged power outages and to follow the authorities’ evacuation orders.
