In the last 24 hours, five more people have died with measles symptoms in the country. At the same time, 1,356 people have been newly infected with suspected and confirmed measles. This information was revealed in the regular measles report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (25 October).
The Directorate said that among the five who died in the last 24 hours, two were in Chattogram and one each in Dhaka, Sylhet and Mymensingh. During this time, 1,280 people showed measles symptoms and 76 were confirmed to be infected with measles.

According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services, from 15 March to date, a total of 1,227 people have died from measles and its symptoms in the country. Among them, 104 died of confirmed measles and 1,123 from symptoms. So far, the number of confirmed measles cases is 23,400 and suspected infections are 221,164. In addition, during this period, of the 196,703 people admitted to hospital with suspected measles, 188,674 have recovered and returned home.
