Unity in diversity is one of Bangladesh's strengths: Cultural Affairs Minister
Calling for further strengthening harmony between the people of Bangladesh's hills and plains, Cultural Affairs Minister Nithai Roy Chowdhury said that unity in diversity is one of Bangladesh's strengths. He said this while speaking as chief guest at a views-exchange meeting with local cultural activists and representatives of ethnic community-related organisations held in the conference room of the Bandarban district administration on Sunday (25 October) afternoon.

The Cultural Affairs Minister said that although there are differences in lifestyle and cultural practices, everyone is united in the larger national identity. In the core spirit of Bangladeshi nationalism introduced by martyred President Ziaur Rahman, the common identity and harmony of all communities of the country received importance. Noting that the diverse lifestyles of the people of the hills and plains have enriched Bangladesh's overall culture, he called on all to unite to build a humane and discrimination-free new Bangladesh.
