According to DTCA sources, under the new system, buses of a specific company will operate on each designated route. This is expected to reduce unhealthy competition for passengers as well as reduce traffic congestion. Initially, 70 to 250 non-AC buses will operate on the routes to be launched. In addition, there are plans to launch three circular bus services in the Farmgate-Palashi, Mohammadpur and Uttara areas.

DTCA Executive Director Mohammad Mosiur Rahman said the plan was made by analyzing passengers' actual demand and road capacity. Through this, it will create travel opportunities for 37 to 38 lakh passengers daily on 32 routes. It may be noted that although this initiative to rearrange the capital's bus routes was taken in 2011, DTCA started its work anew in 2019.
