Government sources in Dhaka said this morning that they are investigating the incident involving the Prime Minister's adviser at Delhi airport. After knowing in detail what exactly happened there yesterday, a decision will be made on what steps to take.

The Prime Minister's Policy and Strategy Adviser, Zahed Ur Rahman, was denied entry into Delhi by Indian immigration authorities. An investigation is underway. After knowing the details, a decision will be made on what steps to take. This information was obtained from government sources on Monday (June 15) morning.

Despite prior notification through a diplomatic letter, Indian immigration authorities denied entry to the Prime Minister's adviser, Zahed Ur Rahman, into Delhi yesterday evening for 'mysterious reasons'. Although permission was later granted on orders from higher authorities, the Prime Minister's adviser is returning to Dhaka via Colombo instead of going to Delhi. Diplomatic sources in Dhaka and Delhi have informed Prothom Alo.

A two-day meeting of senior officials of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) was scheduled to begin in Delhi today. The adviser was supposed to participate as the leader of the Bangladesh delegation.

A responsible official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Prothom Alo this morning that the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi had formally informed the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs last Friday about the adviser's participation in the meeting. Additionally, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Delhi, M. Riaz Hamidullah, spoke over the phone with the concerned official of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the visit of the Prime Minister's information adviser.

Several senior officials in Dhaka, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the reason for the untoward incident at Delhi airport, despite prior written communication and phone contact regarding the visit of an important Bangladeshi government representative, is 'mysterious'.

Prime Minister's adviser Zahed Ur Rahman arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport yesterday evening to participate in the two-day meeting of senior officials of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) starting today in Delhi. He was supposed to lead the Bangladesh delegation at the meeting.
