Sarwar Hossain new Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank
The government has appointed Md. Sarwar Hossain, an executive director of Bangladesh Bank, as the Deputy Governor of the central bank on a contractual basis for three years.

On Tuesday (June 30), the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, Md. Sarwar Hossain has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank subject to voluntary retirement from his current position and suspension of post-retirement leave (PRL).

It stated that he has been given this contractual responsibility for three years from the date of joining, in accordance with Article 10(4) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972.

The notification further mentioned that other terms of appointment will be determined through a contract. This order, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.
