This information was provided in a press release signed by Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Niaz Mehedi of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department on Wednesday (July 1).
According to DMP information, among those arrested in operations conducted in various areas of the capital from June 1 to 30, 71 were listed criminals. Additionally, 797 individuals involved in crimes related to terrorism, robbery, snatching, and dacoity, and 1,446 involved in drug trafficking were detained.
According to statistics, the highest number of those arrested in June were involved in drug-related crimes. Alongside this, a significant number of criminals have come under the law due to DMP's continuous operations to curb snatching, extortion, and organized crime.
Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Niaz Mehedi of DMP said that regular special operations are being conducted to maintain normal law and order in the capital and ensure the safety of citizens. He also informed that such operations will continue in the future in the public interest.
