Heavy rain forecast in three divisions, possibility of low pressure in Bay of Bengal

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of relatively more rain in three divisions of the country. At the same time, the agency has forecast that a low pressure area may form in the northwestern Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas within the next 24 hours.

This information was given in the weather forecast published on Thursday (July 2).

Meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman said that the extended axis of the monsoon trough extends from East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and the southern region of Bangladesh to Assam. A part of it extends to the northwestern Bay of Bengal. The monsoon is currently fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the northern Bay of Bengal.

Until Friday (July 3) morning, there may be gusty winds and thundershowers in many places of Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions. There is also a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged during this time.

Until Saturday (July 4) morning, there may be rain or thundershowers in many places of Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions. Heavy rainfall may occur in some places. Day temperatures may rise slightly, but night temperatures will remain nearly unchanged.

Until Sunday (July 5) morning, there is a possibility of thundershowers in many areas of Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions. Heavy rainfall may also occur in some parts of the country during this time.

Until Monday (July 6) morning, there may be rain or thundershowers in many places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some areas of Rangpur division. At the same time, there is a risk of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may decrease slightly during this time.

Until Tuesday (July 7) morning, rain or thundershowers may continue in many places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and in some areas of Rangpur and Sylhet divisions. There is a possibility of moderate to very heavy rainfall in some places. Day and night temperatures may decrease slightly across the country during this time as well.
