The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of rain or thunderstorms with gusty or squally winds at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour over 17 regions of the country. In this situation, the river ports in the affected areas have been asked to display alert signal number 1.
This information was provided in the weather forecast for the country's inland river ports from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday (July 7).
According to the forecast, temporary gusty or squally winds from the south or southeast may blow over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain or thunderstorms in some parts of these regions.
Due to the risk of inclement weather, the Meteorological Department has advised water vessels plying the rivers to move with caution. Additionally, all concerned river ports have been instructed to display alert signal number 1.
