Madrasahs provide better education than schools: Liberation War Affairs Minister
Liberation War Affairs Minister Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan said that many madrasahs in the country provide better quality education compared to schools. He also praised the dedication and sense of responsibility of madrasah teachers.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a meeting with teachers held at the Sakhipur Upazila Parishad hall room in Tangail on Monday (July 6).

The minister said that although government school teachers receive regular salaries, pensions, and gratuity benefits, many madrasah teachers do not receive these facilities. Yet, they continue to teach students with sincerity and play a vital role in achieving good results.

He said that many madrasah teachers consider this not just a profession but a moral duty and a trust. They manage their households with limited income from various sources beyond government salaries while continuing to educate students.

Ahmed Azam Khan further claimed that the number of students from madrasahs in public and private universities is now significant. He also commented that kindergarten students are also establishing a good position in higher education.

Referring to government primary education, he said that what students learn at the primary level and how many of them reach university is not a satisfactory picture.

The meeting was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Ashraful Alam, and also present were prominent social worker and education enthusiast Begum Nargis Siddika, President of Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association Sakhipur Upazila branch Khurshid Jahan, General Secretary Abdur Razzak Titu, along with local administration, educational institutions, and political figures.
