Jet fuel price drops again, reduced by Tk 19.22 per liter
In line with the continuous decline in fuel oil prices on the global market, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has again reduced the price of jet fuel used in aircraft. This time, the price of jet fuel has been reduced by Tk 19.22 per liter. The new price will be effective from 12:00 AM on Tuesday (July 7).

In a notice on Tuesday, BERC said the new price of jet fuel used for domestic flight operations has been set at Tk 130.99 per liter. Previously, the price was Tk 150.21 per liter.

For international flights, the price of jet fuel per liter has been reduced from 0.9808 US dollars to 0.8556 US dollars.

For the past several months, the price of jet fuel has been adjusted in line with fluctuations in fuel oil prices on the global market. Previously, in June, it was reduced by Tk 15.67 per liter, and in the month before that, a total of Tk 61.12 per liter was reduced in two phases.

However, due to the impact of the war in the Middle East, the price of jet fuel was increased by a total of Tk 107 in two phases in March and by another Tk 24.79 in April. Subsequently, due to the ceasefire and the decline in oil prices on the international market, prices have been reduced consistently.

It is noteworthy that BERC has been adjusting the price of jet fuel every month since May last year. Previously, the price was set by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC). Later, through a notification issued on September 15, 2024, the responsibility of setting the price of furnace oil and Jet A-1 was transferred to BERC.

In continuation of this, on March 23, 2025, BERC organized a public hearing for the first time to set the price of jet fuel. Since then, new prices have been set every month in coordination with the international market.
