On Tuesday (July 7), Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan confirmed this information.
According to central bank data, remittances worth Tk 1,583 crore 47 lakh 50 thousand entered the country in just one day on July 6.
Bangladesh Bank statistics show that in the same period last year, remittances of 42.70 million US dollars had arrived in the country. Accordingly, expatriate income has increased by 62.80 percent in the same period this year.
Concerned parties believe that this upward trend in expatriate income will play a positive role in maintaining the country's foreign exchange reserves, meeting import costs, and ensuring macroeconomic stability.
