The government has promoted 172 Senior Assistant Secretaries to the rank of Joint Secretary. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Thursday (July 9).
The notification stated that the promoted officers have been temporarily assigned as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) under the Ministry of Public Administration. However, separate orders regarding their posting to new workplaces have not yet been issued.
According to government rules, these officers will later be posted as Joint Secretaries in various ministries, divisions, and departments of the administration as needed.
It is noteworthy that this is the first large-scale promotion in the administration since the current BNP-led government assumed office.
